Women's Tennis Wins Three Straight Against William Paterson

Patchogue, NY| The St. Joseph's College (L.I.) women's tennis team defeated William Paterson 7-2, and moved to 3-1 on the season on Saturday afternoon at the Outdoor Field Complex. The Pioneers moved to 1-4 on the year.

Brittany LaBruna defeated Shannon Merker 6-0, 6-0 as William Paterson took the first point.  Victoria Makulik defeated Summer Bernales in straight set of 6-0, 6-3.  

Kelly McGrath came away with the win defeating Gerianna Dauber 6-3, 6-4.

Rita Wehril would seal the victory for St. Joseph's  with a 6-4, 6-3 win over Brianna Boyd, while Erika Hesselbirg took her opponent to an extra set defeating  J. Papin-Yukhtanova 6-2, 7-6, and 11-9.

In doubles play, the tandem of Merker and Makulik dropped their match to LaBruna and Dauber 8-4, and McGrath and Michelle Stanczak won their match 8-4.

 Hesselbirg and Panicola won their doubles match-up 8-1.  

Women's tennis will return to the court on Tuesday September 22 at 5:00PM to take on Staten Island at the St. Joseph's College Outdoor Field Complex.
