Gianna Dickson Captures 2nd-Straight ECAC Rookie of the Month Honor

Danbury, CT| The Eastern Collegiate Athletic Association (ECAC) released its monthly award winners on Friday morning and amongst the winners was freshman Gianna Dickson of the St. Joseph's College (L.I.) women's cross country team, who was named Metro Region Rookie of the Month for October.

Dickson, who takes home the honor for the second-straight month, finished second at the Skyline Conference Championships on October 24 with a 6k time of 25:57.3. Her performance earned her Rookie of the Year honors.

The freshman also turned in a pair of 10th-place finishes at the SJC Invitational on October 16 and the Golden Eagle Invitational on October 10. At the SJC Invitational, Dickson was the second-best Skyline Conference runner, and at the Golden Eagles Invitational, she was bested only by teammate Caleigh Capek.

In addition to earning Skyline Rookie of the Year accolades in October, Dickson picked up Skyline All-Conference First-Team honors, a Skyline Runner of the Week nod on October 19, and two Skyline Rookie of the Week awards on October 5 and 11. 

Dickson and the Golden Eagles will wrap up their 2021 season at NCAA Regionals at Rowan University on November 13.
