McFadzen and Outsen Highlight SJC's Weekly Skyline Selections

New York, NY| The Skyline Conference released its weekly awards Monday evening, and amongst the winners were four St. Joseph's College (L.I.) Golden Eagles, including junior Josh Outsen and freshman Jillian McFadzen, who received baseball Pitcher of the Week and softball Rookie of the Week accolades, respectively.

Josh Outsen (Jr.) – Baseball Pitcher of the Week

Outsen threw his second career no-hitter in a 16-0 win over Yeshiva University on Friday March 11, striking out nine batters and walking two others in seven innings.  The Farmingdale, NY has made two starts in three appearances this season and boats a 2.63 ERA. In 13.2 innings Outsen has struck out 15 batters and allowed seven hits.

Jillian McFadzen (Fr.) – Softball Rookie of the Week

In eight contests last week, McFadzen hit .571 and generated 12 RBI's and 10 runs. Additionally, the Commack, NY native recorded five triples, two doubles and five stolen bases. In her first collegiate appearance, a 9-1 victory over Robert Morris-Springfield on Wednesday, March 8, McFadzen went 4-4 with two RBI's, two runs and a double. In an 11-0 win over St. Elizabeth on Friday, March 11, the shortstop went 3-4 with three RBI's, two runs and a triple.

Anthony Bonilla (Jr.) – Baseball Weekly Honor Roll

Anthony Bonilla went 8-17 last week, compiling a .471 batting average and driving in eight runs as the Golden Eagles posted a 5-0 record. Bonilla boasted a .526 on-base percentage and a .647 slugging percentage in four appearances, tallied two extra base hits—a double and a triple—and saw one walk. The Massapequa Park, NY native currently leads the team in at-bats (33), hits, (14), RBI's (13) and triples (3).

Mallory McClafferty (Sr.) – Softball Weekly Honor Roll

Mallory McClafferty had a strong opening week at the plate and on the mound, posting a 3-0 record and a 1.56 ERA while also hitting .429 and knocking in nine runs. In her first of three complete games, McClafferty fanned six batters and allowed just one hit in a 9-1 defeat of Robert Morris-Springfield on Wednesday, March 9. In a 10-3 victory over Summit (Pa) on Thursday, March 10, the Bellport, NY native hit 2-3 with three RBI's and a triple.
