Four Golden Eagles Land on Skyline Weekly Honor Roll

New York, NY| The Skyline Conference released its weekly awards Tuesday morning, and amongst the winners were four St. Joseph's College (L.I.) Golden Eagles, including senior Heather Ferchland (women's lacrosse), sophomore Lauren Buturla (softball), junior Anthony Bonilla (baseball) and sophomore Matt Dioguardio, who appeared on Weekly Honor Rolls in their respective sports.

Heather Ferchland (Sr.) – Women's Lacrosse Weekly Honor Roll

In a 17-1 win over the College of Mount Saint Vincent on April 2, senior Heather Ferchland established or tied for game-highs in goals (3), assists (2), points (5), ground balls (5), shots (9) and caused turnovers (4). The Selden, NY native currently leads the Golden Eagles and is sixth in the conference in goals (17). For Ferchland, this is the second Weekly Honor Roll selection of the season and the eight of her career.

Lauren Buturla (So.) – Softball Weekly Honor Roll

Sophomore Lauren Buturla appeared on the Skyline Weekly Honor Roll for the first time in her career after posting a throwing a complete game shutout in a 7-0 victory over Hunter College on March 30. The Hauppauge, NY native struck out four batters and allowed four hits through seven innings of action. Buturla is now 3-2 on the year and boasts a 3.25 ERA.

Anthony Bonilla (Jr.) – Baseball Weekly Honor Roll

Anthony Bonilla went 7-for-15 for a .467 batting average as the SJC baseball team went 1-2 last week. The junior outfield cleared the bases with a grand slam, lifting the Golden Eagles to a 6-4 victory over William Paterson last Wednesday and completed the week with a .800 slugging percentage driving in four runs and scoring two in the process. The Massapequa Park, NY native stole three bases and earned his second Weekly Honor Roll selection of the season and third of his career.

Matt Dioguardio (So.) – Men's Tennis Weekly Honor Roll

Matt Dioguardio earned his first Weekly Honor Roll selection on Tuesday after posting a 2-0 singles record and a 1-1 doubles record last week. Dioguardio helped lead SJC to a 9-0 conference victory over Sage on Saturday with a 6-0, 6-0 win at second singles and 8-0 first doubles win. Additionally, the Patchogue, NY native came back to win in three sets at third singles vs Rutgers Newark on Thursday.
