New York, NY| The St. Joseph's University (L.I.) baseball team was selected to finish first in this upcoming 2023 season according to the Skyline Conference's 2022-23 preseason coaches poll. A strong performance last season saw the Golden Eagles as Skyline Conference champions as they look to defend their title this upcoming season.
Additionally, the St. Joseph's University (L.I.) men's lacrosse team was selected to finish seventh according to the Skyline Conference's 2022-23 preseason coaches poll.
SJLI baseball received 96 total points while garnering six first-place votes. USMMA finished with a total of 89 points with four first-place votes and Maritime also secured a first-place vote.
Head coach Tom Caputo enters his first season with the Golden Eagles after being an assistant coach with SJLI for the past 4 seasons. The team looks to build off of last year's success coming off a Skyline Conference championship and an appearance in the NCAA Tournament.
SJLI men's lacrosse collected 13 total points, while Maritime obtained the majority 49 points with seven first-place votes. USMMA also received 38 points with one first-place vote.
Head coach Tim Tuttle also enters his first season with the Golden Eagles coming from Stony Brook University where he was an assistant coach. St. Joseph's looks to build off of last season returning eight Golden Eagles who earned a spot in the Skyline Conference Tournament.
