Three Golden Eagles Garner Weekly Awards; Two Land on Honor Roll

New York, NY| Five Golden Eagles garnered Skyline Conference weekly awards when the conference released its awards on Tuesday morning.

Junior Joe Sanguedolce was named Baseball Player of the Week, junior Riley Lim-Ellis received Softball Player of the Week, and freshman Antonia Busa collected Softball Rookie of the Week honors.

Additionally, sophomore Jack Kelly of the baseball team and junior Julia Ruocchio of the softball team both finished with Weekly Honor Roll recognition.  

Joe Sanguedolce (Jr.) - Baseball Player of the Week

Sanguedolce finished the week hitting .471, going 8-for-17 at the plate. The junior posted a .882 slugging percentage with a .545 on-base percentage. The second baseman totaled eight RBIs and six runs scored. In the conference-clinching win over CMSV, he went 5-for-6 with two home runs, three runs scored, and a career-high six RBIs.

Riley Lim-Ellis (Jr.) - Softball Player of the Week

Lim-Ellis finished the week with a .750 hitting percentage across six games. The junior recorded 15 hits on 20 at-bats, hitting five doubles, to go along with nine runs scored, and nine RBIs. The fielder also accumulated 28 putouts and two assists.  

Antonia Busa (Fr.) - Softball Rookie of the Week 

Busa was a steady 12-19 at the plate across six games played on the week. The shortstop totaled 10 runs scored and five RBIs while hitting while tallying two doubles. The Massapequa, NY native also amassed two stolen bases, six putouts, and two assists. 

Jack Kelly (So.) - Baseball Weekly Honor Roll

Kelly went 1-0 this week shutting out USMMA through the first seven innings. The pitcher surrendered just two runs on four hits and finished with a career-best seven strikeouts.

Julia Ruocchio (Jr.) - Softball Weekly Honor Roll 

Ruocchio finished the week with a 4.96 ERA across five games on the mound with four starts, totaling 12 strikeouts. The junior pitched a perfect game allowing no hits while adding five strikeouts across five innings in a win against Yeshiva. The pitcher also recorded four strikeouts in three innings pitched in another win against Yeshiva.
