Old Westbury, NY| Despite leading at halftime, the St. Joseph's College (L.I.) men's basketball team (2-4, 2-1 Skyline) suffered its first conference defeat in an 88-79 loss at SUNY Old Westbury on Saturday afternoon.

Seniors Isaiah Moore (5-for9 FG) and Trey Kinard (6-for-11 FG) both posted a team-high 16 points in a contest that saw the Golden Eagles shoot 43.5% from the floor.

Senior Jarred Marrow contributed 13 points on 4-for-10 shooting off the bench, and fellow classman Stephen Cohen contributed eight points and a team-best five assists.

Old Westbury's Terrin Roland posted game-high totals in points (20), assists (9) and rebounds (8).

A strong opening 10 minutes saw the guests take a 19-12 lead 9:16 into the contest when Cohen drained a three-pointer but at the break it was only a one-point lead (38-37) for the Golden Eagles.

The teams traded leads through the opening 11 minutes of the second half and St. Joseph's looked in control when Kinard scored off a jump shot to give his side a five-point lead (68-63). But the Panthers rallied for 17 of the next 22 points and went up 80-73 with 3:30 to play in regulation.

SJC would muster only six more points in the contest and later succumbed to an 88-79 defeat.

Although St. Joseph's was outshot from the field (47.1%-43.5%), the team was far superior from beyond the arc and held a steep 42.3%-25.0% margin.

The guests out-rebounded the Panthers 40-35 but were outscored 44-20 in the paint.

The Golden Eagles return to action on Tuesday, December 5 when they visit Yeshiva University for a Skyline Conference contest at 8:00 pm. Watch/follow the action live here.
