Patrchogue, NY| Despite a 20-point performance from senior Isaiah Moore, the St. Joseph's College (L.I.) men's basketball (2-6, 2-3 Skyline) team dropped a 61-59 decision to St. Joseph's College (Brkln) in a Skyline Conference showdown inside the Danzi Center on Saturday afternoon.

Moore's 20 points came off 5-for-9 shooting from the field and 8-for-9 shooting from the charity stripe. The guard also went for four rebounds and three steals.

Senior Jarred Marrow shot 5-for-8 and recorded 15 points off the bench, and fellow classman Try Kinard contributed 10 points.

Kavan Meiner and the Stephane Etheart scored 14 points apiece for the Bears.

A furious start to the contest saw the teams play to a 16-16 tie 6:54 into regulation, but a 17-1 run by the Bears saw them pull ahead 33-17 with 3:51 left in the half before taking a 38-25 advantage into the break.

The Golden Eagles responded in the second, scoring 25 of the period's first 29 points to take a 50-44 lead with 7:50 to play in regulation.

SJC-Brooklyn rode the next momentum swing and pulled ahead 57-56 with 2:03 to play, but a Frank Basile free thrown and a Marrow layup over the next sequences gave the hosts a 59-57 with just under a minute to play.

Meiner tied the game up at 59 with 37 seconds to play and, following a Kinard missed three-pointer, enabled Alec Willis to drain the game-winner with less than three seconds remaining.

SJC shot well early but leveled off as the game progressed and finished with a 38.0% shooting percentage. Despite outscoring the opposition on points off turnovers (20-11), St. Joseph's was dominated in the paint where they were outscored 34-12.

The Golden Eagles return to action on Wednesday, December 13 when they visit William Paterson University for a non-conference contest at 6:00 pm. Live video and stats will be available here.
