Rangers Clip Eagles’ Wings in Shutout

Madison, N.J. – The St. Joseph's Golden Eagles (0-10-1) could not find an answer against the Drew Rangers (7-2-1) on Wednesday night as the Rangers outshot the Eagles 21-8 on their way to a 5-0 victory.

The Eagles defense held firm through the first 36 minutes of the match as Drew couldn't break through until Jackson Hurst came in as a sub. Hurst made an immediate impact as he intercepted a pass in the Eagles box and drilled a shot that Avery Gomez (Bay Shore, N.Y./Bay Shore) deflected into the net. With five seconds remaining in the first half, Hurst put home a rebound to give the Rangers a 2-0 advantage going into the break.

It wouldn't be long into the second half before Drew found the back of the net once again. The Rangers made it 3-0 after Joe Sollod drew the keeper out and crossed it to Dylan Hammer who hammered it home into a wide open net.  Following the goal, both teams cleared their bench with substitutions. Drew would add two more before the night was over.

The Golden Eagles will hope to find their stride as they return home on Saturday morning to take on Purchase at 11 a.m.
