Farmingdale Rams Roll Past Men's Soccer in Skyline Game

Patchogue, N.Y. — Despite their encouragingly aggressive start, the Golden Eagles (3-13-2, 2-4-1 SKY) fell to the Farmingdale Rams (8-6-1, 4-2-1 SKY) in a crushing 4-2 match on Thursday evening.  The loss puts the Eagles in a tough position as they work to break into the top six teams of the Skyline Conference, and subsequently, the conference playoffs.

Chris Hall (Mastic, N.Y./ William Floyd) certainly started his team off on the right foot, converting a free kick from just outside the box into the first goal of the night;the shot rocketed past the keeper only five minutes into the match.

The Rams' Diego Sarmiento Diego, taking advantage of a chaotic play in St. Joseph's box, found the back of the net at 37:49, bringing the visitors even with the Eagles by halftime.

The Rams only built upon this advance in the second half, with Sarmiento scoring two more goals before St. Joseph's could answer with Terrence Dzus' (Central Islip, N.Y./ Islip) breakaway off of an assist from Brian O'Sullivan (Manorville, N.Y./ Eastport-South Manor).

J.T. Famularo's goal for Farmingdale at 74:44 cinched their victory.

The Eagles will challenge fifth place Old Westbury on Saturday, in a 2 p.m. Skyline match on their home turf.  This game will also be St. Joseph's annual senior day.
