Golden Eagles Speed Past Ramapo Roadrunners, 5-2
Patchogue, N. Y. – A three-run fourth inning for St. Joseph's College (4-7) was the difference in a 5-2 win over Ramapo (8-5) Tuesday evening at Gregg Alfano Field. The fourth was highlighted by an RBI double by Anthony Bonilla and run scoring singles by Nick Girardi and Brendan Sullivan.
Ramapo got on the board first in the third via a two-run double, but SJC cut into the lead when Nick Girardi scored on a wild pitch. The Golden Eagles added a run in the bottom of the eighth as Bonilla drove home Brian Kerman with a single to right.
Girardi started the game for SJC, pitching two effective innings, totaling 4 K's and allowed no hits. Glenn Patriss followed with two innings and allowed two runs. Ryan Aloise (2 IP), Matt Mills (1 IP) and Josh Outsen (2 IP) finished it out by holding the Ramapo offense scoreless. Patriss was credited with his second win and Outsen earned his second save.
Offensive standouts on the day were Bonilla (2 for 5, 1 R, 2 RBI) and Brendan Sullivan (2 for 4, 1 R).
St. Joseph's returns to the diamond for Skyline Conference home doubleheaders this Saturday and Sunday at home against Farmingdale and Maritime. Both begin at noon.
