The St. Joseph's University, New York (L.I.) men's soccer team shuts out Sarah Lawrence for a 2-0 victory, on Sunday evening.

• Senior James Dacos led the Golden Eagles with four shots, two shots on goal and one goal scored

• Junior Vincent Mariani finished with a goal scored

• Junior Giuseppe Vitale faced six shots on goal, recording six saves

How it happened

• The Golden Eagles had the momentum to start the match as SJLI was able to find enough space for three shots, with Dacos' opportunity saved in the first ten minutes

• As St. Joseph's held the advantage early, the Gryphons were able to test SJLI's backline at the 20-minute mark as Vitale picked up three saves in three minutes of action

• The match remained tied as the first half was winding down until Mariani was able to find the back of the net in the 43 minute to take the, 1-0 lead into the second half

• Sarah Lawrence looked to respond in the second half as a shot as shots from Connor Saul and Morris Monaco Collin were both turned away by Vitale

• The Golden Eagles would once again find the back of the net in the 81 minute as Dacos found space just outside the box to put it past the keeper to secure the, 2-0 victory
