Men's Soccer Championship Field Set

NEW YORK I With a tightly contested regular season concluding last night, the six-team field is now set for the 2023 Skyline Conference Men's Soccer Championship.

See championship bracket here.

The tournament gets underway in the First Round this Sunday. Seeding came down to the final day, with a close fight for the top-two berths and first-round byes, and a three-way tie for third place.

For the second consecutive season, Manhattanville and Farmingdale State sit atop the league. Manhattanville earns the No. 1 seed in the championship after going unbeaten at 7-0-4. Second-seeded Farmingdale State enters the tournament with the other opening-round bye, going 7-1-3 in the league.

After the top-two seeds, Yeshiva is third, U.S. Merchant Marine is fourth, Mount Saint Vincent is fifth and St. Joseph's-Long Island is sixth, respectively. Last season's runner-up YU owns the three-team tiebreaker (head-to-head, cumulative record against the other teams), edging out USMMA and CMSV for the next highest spot behind Manhattanville and Farmingdale State. Now, YU and USMMA – last season's championship pairing – will host first-round games, while the Valiants and Rams await the winners at home in the semifinals.

The top two seeds are hoping for better returns this time around after not advancing to the championship last fall.

The opening game of the tournament will feature No. 5 CMSV (6-2-3) at defending champion No. 4 USMMA Sunday at noon. No. 6 SJ-LI (5-4-2) at No. 3 Yeshiva (6-2-3) will play later in the day at 4 p.m. in Teaneck, N.J.

The winner of 5/4 matchup will head to Manhattanville on Thursday, Nov. 2 to square off in the semifinals. The winner of 6/3 match will travel to FSC in the other semifinal Thursday. Times to be announced.

The Final will take place on Sunday, Nov. 5 at the site of the highest-remaining seed. The winner of the championship will receive the Skyline's automatic bid to the 2023 NCAA Division III Men's Soccer Championship.
