Men's Volleyball Receives Votes in AVCA Preseason Poll

Lexington, KY| The St. Joseph's College (L.I.) men's volleyball team received 11 total points in the American Volleyball Coaches Association Division III Men's Preseason Poll which was released on Monday afternoon.

SJC finished outside of the Top-15 with the 26th-highest point total in the nation. Thirty teams in total received votes. 

The reigning two-time Skyline Conference champions were the only team from the conference to appear in the poll. Former Skyline foe Kean University finished in 17th place with 38 total votes.

Defending national champion SUNY New Paltz won 368 total votes and 20 first-place votes and took first in the poll. Springfield (331) and Stevens Tech (324) finished second and third, respectively, and garnered two first-place votes each.

Coming off a 25-7 season in 2019 in which the Golden Eagles posted a 3-4 record against ranked opponents, SJC seeks its third-straight conference title in 2020. Play opens January 17 with a pair of matches at Misericordia University.
