Men's Volleyball Earns a Pair of Wins Over Sage and Randolph Macon

Dallas, PA| The St. Joseph's College men's volleyball team picked up two non-conference 3-0 wins over Sage Colleges and Randolph Macon.

SJC 3, Sage 0

The Golden Eagles edged the Gators 25-22 in the opening set and took a 2-0 lead with a 25-15 win in set two. SJC would go on the complete the sweep with a 25-21 win in the third set.

Senior David Slager led the Golden Eagles with 11 kills while hitting at a .476 clip. Senior Matt Cole finished with 10 kills and a team-best .600 hitting percentage. Seniors Paul Curaro and Kyle Biggers recorded nine kills apiece.

Setter Jason Siriban tossed a game-best 36 assists and recorded seven digs. Libero Will Flohr picked up seven digs as well.

The Gators were led by a 13-point performance from Shande Wenz. Setter Ryan Jennings recorded 17 assists and libero Dan Mackey finished with 11 digs.

SJC 3, Randolph Macon 0

St. Joseph's grabbed an early match lead with a 25-16 win in set one and a 25-21 win in set two. The Golden Eagles needed extra points in set three but completed the sweep with a 28-26 win in set three.

Slager posted a team-high eight kills and 10 digs with Cole finishing with seven. Junior Jack Solen finished with six kills.

Siriban dished 27 assists with nine digs.

Kolby Gibson led the Yellow Jackets with 11 kills. Setter Jarrett Carrano tossed 24 assists and had a team-best 11 digs.

The Golden Eagles host Kean University in the Danzi Center on Friday, January 24 at 7:00 pm.
