Women’s Swimming Opens 2018-19 Season with Second-Place Finish at Skyline Sprints

Newburgh, NY| The St. Joseph's College (L.I.) women's swimming team opened its 2018-19 season on Saturday afternoon with a second-place finish in a field of four teams at the Skyline Sprints 2018 hosted by Mount St. Mary College.

The Golden Eagles opened the meet with a second-place finish in the 400 yard medley relay when Julianna Kohlus, Jordyn Cummings, Isabella Peralta and Sophia Lee turned in a time of 4:54.16.

Samantha Mullman placed third in the 200 yard freestyle (2:14.52) and was second in the 100 yard freestyle (1:00.37).

Isabella and Catherine Peralta took second and third, respectively, in the 100 yard butterfly with times of 1:18.2 and 1:24.84.

Kohlus finished third place in the 100 yard backstroke (1:13.31) and later second place in the 200 yard IM (2:40.39).

SJC capped the meet with a first-place finish in the 200 yard freestyle relay. The team of Lee, Mullman and the Peralta sisters turned in a time of 1:54.29.

The Golden Eagles return to action on Saturday, October 27 when they visit Sarah Lawrence College for a Skyline Conference meet at 1:30 pm.
