Women’s Swimming Picks Up Trio of Wins on Senior Day

Patchogue, NY| The St. Joseph's College (L.I.) women's swimming team scooped up three victories over Cedar Crest College, 121-78, St. Joseph's College (Brkln), 119-45, and York College, 132-42, in a Senior Day quad-match inside the Danzi Center on Friday evening.

The Golden Eagles were powered by freshman Julianna Kohlus, who finished in first place and set a new school record in the 200-yard butterfly event with a time of 2:29.47.

Kohlus also finished first in the 200-yard backstroke (2:34.16) and was a member of the 200-yard medley relay team, along with junior Aileen Baker and sophomores Jordyn Cummings and Sophia Lee, which took first with a time of 2:10.68.

Senior Catherine Peralta took first in the 200-yard freestyle (2:22.65) and placed third in the 200-yard backstroke (2:52.43). Fellow senior Jasmine Ramos finished in second place, behind Lee (28.89), in the 50-yard freestyle.

Sophomore Bella Peralta (1:15.98) and Cummings (3:00.16) claimed first-place finishes in the 100-yard backstroke and 100-yard breaststroke, respectively.

The Golden Eagles return to action on Friday, January 25 when they participate in the Skyline Conference Championships the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy.
