Women’s Swimming Takes Third at SLC Sprint Carnival

Bronxville, NY| The St. Joseph's College (L.I.) women's swimming team finished in third place at the 2018 Sarah Lawrence College Sprint Carnival on Saturday afternoon.

The Golden Eagles collected 164 points at the meet and finished behind Hunter College (235 points) and the hosts (199).

Junior Samantha Mullman recorded SJC's only first-place finish of the afternoon when she posted a time of 59.69 in the 100-yard freestyle. Mullman went on to take second in the 50-yard freestyle (27.32) and was a part of the 200-yard medley relay team that finished in fifth place (2:12.51).

Freshman Julianna Kohlus took third place in the 100-yard butterfly (1:10.49) and was a member of the 200-yard freestyle relay team, along with sophomore Sophia Lee, junior Aileen Baker and Mullman, that took fourth place (1:53.72).

Other highlights included Lee's fifth-place finish in the 100-yard free (1:02.32) and Kohlus' fourth-place finish in the 200-yard IM (2:41.40).

The Golden Eagles return to action on Saturday, November 3 when they host the College of New Rochelle and St. Joseph's College (Brkln) at 10:00 am.
