Women’s Swimming Competes at ECAC Winter Championships

East Meadow, NY| The St. Joseph's College (L.I.) women's swimming team competed at the 2018 ECAC Winter Swimming Championships on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, November 30 and December 1 and 2, at the Nassau County Aquatic Center.

Highlights of the weekend included the 800-yard freestyle relay team of Samantha Mullman, Julianna Kohlus, Aileen Baker and Sophia Lee setting a new program record with a time of 9:00.41--more than 21 seconds faster than the previous record.

Mullman came close to breaking the program record in the 50-yard free when she posted a time of 26.74. The junior set the school record of 26.02 in January.

Lee finished within shouting distance of Mullman in the 50-yard free with a time of 27.21 and had a strong showing in the 200-yard free (2:15.89). Mullman posted a time of 2:13.35 in the same event.

The 400-yard freestyle relay team of Lee, Baker, Kohlus and Catherine Peralta wrapped the weekend with a time of 4:13.25.

The Golden Eagles return to action on Friday, December 7 when they visit Baruch College for a non-conference meet at 6:00 pm.
