Women’s Swimming Picks up Pair of Wins in Home Opener

Patchogue, NY| The St. Joseph's College (L.I.) women's swimming team picked up a pair of victories over St. Joseph's College (Brkln), 121-60, and the College of New Rochelle, 117-78, in the team's home-opening meet on Saturday morning.

Junior Samantha Mullman recorded the Golden Eagles' first win of the meet when she took first place in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:12.46.

The sprinter went on to finish first in the 100-yard freestyle (58.48) and was a part of the 400-yard freestyle relay team, along with freshman Julianna Kohlus, sophomore Sophia Lee and junior Aileen Baker, that also took first place (4:18.69).

Lee (27.08) and Baker (29.31) finished in first and third, respectively, in the 50-yard freestyle, and Kohlus took second place in both the 200-yard IM (2:39.41) and the 500-yard freestyle (6:06.98).

Baker posted a first-place time of 1:14.45 in the 100-yard backstroke, and sophomore Jordyn Cummings was second in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:26.81).

The Golden Eagles return to action on Friday, November 16 when they host SUNY Maritime and Sarah Lawrence College for a Skyline Conference double-duel at 6:00 pm.
