Women’s Swimming Competes at Skyline Meet on Saturday

Purchase, NY| The St. Joseph's College (L.I.) women's swimming team competed at a Skyline Conference meet at SUNY Purchase on Saturday afternoon where it defeated the Panthers, 103-29, but took defeats to Sarah Lawrence, 92-69, and the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, 146-40.

Meet highlights for the Golden Eagles included second-place finishes for freshman Julianna Kohlus (12:30.61) and sophomore Sophia Lee (26.94) in the 1,000-yard free and 50-yard free events, respectively.

Kohlus would later take third place in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:41.36. Sophomore Jordyn Cummings picked up a third-place finish in the 200-yard IM (2:57.16).

Lee took third in the 100-yard free (1:00.87) and was a part of the 400-yard freestyle relay team that also finished in third place (4:16.09).

The Golden Eagles return to action on Saturday, January 5 when they host Cedar Crest College for a non-conference meet at 1:00 pm.
