Women’s Swimming Defeats Sarah Lawrence, Maritime on Friday

Patchogue, NY| The St. Joseph's College (L.I.) women's swimming team picked up a pair of Skyline Conference victories over Sarah Lawrence, 99-89, and SUNY Maritime, 107-94, inside the Danzi Center Pool on Friday evening.

Sophomore Sophia Lee posted SJC's first first-place finish of the meet when she dominated the 50-yard free with a time of 26.94.

Three events later, junior Samantha Mullman and Lee finished first and second, respectively, in the 100-yard free with times of 58.31 and 1:00.61.

Junior Aileen Baker took first in the 100-yard backstroke (1:13.35), and freshman Julianna Kohlus finished second in the 100-yard fly (1:10.53) and the 500-yard free (6:03.65).

The 200-yard freestyle relay team of Lee, Baker, Kohlus and Mullman posted a time of 1:50.71 in the meet's final event to clinch the victories.

The Golden Eagles return to action on Friday, November 30 when they participate in the ECAC Championships at the Nassau County Aquatic Center in East Meadow, NY.
