Women's Tennis Drops Regular Season Final to Hunter

Flushing, NY| The St. Joseph's College (L.I.) women's tennis team wrapped up its 2019 regular season slate with a non-conference defeat to Hunter College at the USTA National Tennis Center on Friday afternoon.

The loss ensures the Golden Eagles, who enter the Skyline Conference playoffs as the second seed, complete their regular season with a 9-3 overall mark.

SJC's first doubles pairing of Amanda Post and Nora Burnett secured the Golden Eagles' only doubles victory with an 8-3 result.

Post went on to pick up a 6-4, 6-1 win at first singles and Mackenzie Martocci posted SJC's other singles win, a 6-4, 6-1 decision at fourth singles.

The Golden Eagles return to action on Thursday, October 24 when they host a Skyline Conference semifinal match. Time and opponent to be dtermined.
