Women's Tennis Advances to Skyline Conference Final

Patchogue, NY| The St. Joseph's College (L.I.) women's tennis team will advance to the Skyline Confernce Final after defeating Mount St. Mary College, 5-1, in the semifinals at home on Thursday evening.

The Golden Eagles, the defending Skyline Conference champions, finished second in the regular-season standings and will visit top-seeded Farmingdale State in the final on Saturday afternoon.

SJC went three-for-three in the doubles matches, picking up 8-1 wins at second and third doubles and an 8-6 victory at first singles courtesey of Amanda Post and Nora Burnett.

The Knights registered a fourth-singles victory and brought the match score back to within two (3-1) but second and third singles wins by Burnett and Mackenzie Martocci clinched the 5-1 win and a championship berth for SJC.

The Golden Eagles visit the Rams on Saturday afternoon at 1:00 pm on the campus of Farmingdale State. They seek their second-straight title a year after claiming the first in program history in 2018.
