Baseball Checks in at #7 in New York Region Rankings, Receives Votes in National Poll

Patchogue, NY| The St. Joseph's College (L.I.) baseball team earned the #7 ranking in the first New York Regional poll voted on by the NCAA and released on Thursday afternoon.  

The Golden Eagles, now in second place in the Skyline Conference standings and sporting a 22-12 overall record, we're 21-10 at the time of voting and finished one spot ahead of Skyline Conference rival Farmingdale State (18-13), who finished eighth.

Additionally, SJC received four votes in the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association/D3Baseball.com national poll released on Tuesday and ranks 39th in the country.

Key wins catapulting the Golden Eagles this season have been 7-0 victories over Maritime in a Skyline Conference doubleheader on April 9 and an 8-7 victory over then #13 Johns Hopkins on March 22.

Atop the New York rankings was Oswego State (23-8) with SUNY Cortland (29-7) and St. John Fisher (22-6) checking in at second and third, respectively.
