Bray Leads Men's Golf to a Fourth-Place Finish at Ravens Spring Invitational

Written by Joshua Soto (SJC-LI Sports Information)

Honey Brook, PA| Over the weekend, the St. Joseph's College (L.I.) men's golf team finished fourth out of 13 squads at the Ravens Spring Invitational, held at the Honeybrook Golf Course.

The caveat to this event is that Senior Robert Bray posted a 73 his best competitive round of his four year career at SJC-earning him his first Medalist Honors for the event.  The victory was well deserved and earned.  Rob had to make a par on the very last hole to complete the victory while competing in the same group with one of his closest scoring competitors.  "Rob displayed tremendous poise and character in withstanding the charge of the 3 players who scored 74- just one stroke more than Rob" said head coach George Cangero.

Senior Christian Bleck had another fine outing posting a solid 77 earning a top-10 finish while freshman Patrick Standard posted an 81 followed by junior Rich Kelly posted a very good score of 85 his second best competitive score.

"I am so proud of the team's performance and the manner in which they conducted themselves, they demonstrated tremendous character and support for one another" added Cangero

The Golden Eagles finished the Invitational with a 316, 36 strokes over par for a fourth-place finish. Immaculata came in first with a 307 (+27).

St. Joseph's will now head to Ballston NY for the Skidmore College Dr. Tim Brown Invitational on Friday April 15.
