Men's Volleyball Picks up Sweep over Misericordia

Patchogue, NY| The St. Joseph's College men's volleyball team picked up a 3-0 non-conference win over Misericordia University Wednesday evening at the Danzi Center.

The win moves the Golden Eagles to 7-2 on the season as the Cougars slide to 7-4.

After taking an early match lead with a 25-14 win in set one, the Golden Eagles edged out the visitors in the second set, 25-23. SJC went on to cruise to a 25-9 victory in set three to secure the 3-0 match win.

Juniors Paul Curaro and Will Flohr led the Golden Eagles with 11 kills apiece while hitting .500 and 529, respectively. Curaro was credited with a match-high nine digs.

Senior setter Tyler Jones dished a game-best 29 assists. Junior Matt Amberge totaled nine kills and had a hand in five blocks. Junior Kyle Biggers was also credited with five total blocks.

The Cougars were led by Caleb Bauder with six kills. Ryan Miller finished with five kills and a team-high five digs.

Jordan Spidle tossed 11 assists and Dylan Sellitti recorded six.

The Golden Eagles return to the Danzi Center on Wednesday, February 20 when they host Ramapo College. Game time is set for 7:00 pm.
