The St. Joseph's University-New York (L.I.) women's volleyball team split a pair of non-conference matches in the Danzi Center on Saturday afternoon. After falling to Buffalo State 3-0, the Golden Eagles bounced back for a 3-0 sweep over Baruch College.

How it happened

A slow start in set one proved difficult for the Golden Eagles to overcome. The Bengals claimed the first six points and kept their distance from SJLI with a 25-14 win

St. Joseph's held a slight lead early in set two, 7-5, but seven unanswered points in favor of Buffalo put the visitors in a lead that they would hold onto throughout the set for a 25-12 win

The Bengals completed the sweep with a 25-18 win in set three

The Golden Eagles led wire-to-wire in set one cruising to a 25-10 win

A back-and-forth battle followed in set two, but with the teams tied at 20, St. Joseph's took advantage of back-to-back Baruch errors and a kill from Vanderhoof moved the score to 23-20. After an exchange of points, a kill from Gremli closed the set at 25-23

SJLI jumped to an 11-2 lead in set three and for most of the set held a double-digit lead and capped off the sweep with a 25-12 win
