Women's Volleyball Battles to 3-2 Win over Pratt

The St. Joseph's University-New York (L.I.) women's volleyball team battled to a 3-2 non-conference victory at the Pratt Institute on Saturday afternoon.

• Senior Madison Gremli led all players and matched a career-best 21 kills and 25 digs

• Junior Jackie Wolf and freshman Nina Vanderhoof pitched in with 11 kills apiece with the latter finishing with four blocks

• Setter Katie D'Angelo dished a career-high 45 assists with 16 digs

• Libero Sarah Montefusco picked up 20 digs

How it happened

• Similar to Thursday night against Sarah Lawrence, both teams squeaked out a win in the first two sets with the Golden Eagles taking set one 25-21 and the Cannoneers coming away with a 25-22 victory in set two

• St. Joseph's used a 9-0 run in the middle of set three to build a 14-6 lead before cruising to a 25-15 win

• The fourth set saw SJLI trailing by just one late in the frame, 21-20, but Pratt went on to score five of the final six points to tie the match at two sets apiece with a 25-21 win

•  A Gremli service ace gave the Golden Eagles a 5-1 lead in the decisive set before the hosts inched their back to knot the score at 7. The unanswered points win in favor of St. Joseph's, 10-7, and the visitors would hold on for a 15-9 win and take the match 3-2
