Women's Volleyball Falls to Top-Seeded Manhattanville in Skyline Finals

The second-seeded St. Joseph's University-New York (L.I.) women's volleyball team fell 3-0 to top-seeded Manhattanville College in the Skyline Conference finals on Saturday afternoon.

• Junior Jackie Wolf led the Golden Eagles with eight kills and finished with eight digs

• Senior Madison Gremli collected a team-best 19 digs and added four kills

• Libero Sarah Montefusco picked up 11 digs

• Setter Katie D'Angelo finished with 18 assists and 15 digs

How it happened

• The opening frame was tight early, but a 5-0 run in favor of the Valiants created some distance, 10-5. The Golden Eagles inched to within three, 17-14, but another six unanswered Manhattanville points extended their lead as they went on the claim set one 25-20

• The Valiants broke a 7-7 stalemate in the second frame with nine straight points and pulled away for a 25-16 win and a 2-0 match lead 

• Manhattanville led wire to wire in the third set and claimed the title with a 25-16 win
