Results:

The St. Joseph's University (L.I.) women's lacrosse team season ends, in the Skyline Conference playoffs semifinals with an 18-5 loss to Maritime.

Top performers:
  • Senior Jamie Trowbridge led the Golden Eagles, matching a team-high two goals while adding one ground ball, two draw controls, and one caused turnover.

  • Junior Emily O'Mara recorded a team-high two goals, one assist, one ground ball, and three draw controls 

  • Senior Emma Lange contributed one assist, two ground balls and three caused turnovers

  • Junior Kayleigh Mimnuagh tallied one goal on the night 

  • Nicole Johnson led the Privateers with seven goals, two assists, five ground balls, seven draw controls, and two caused turnovers

  • Maritime's Emily Commodore provided five goals and two ground balls  

How it happened:
  • As the game opened up the Privateers wasted no time as Commodore found the back of the nets 13 seconds into action, four minutes later SJLI would tie the game courtesy of Trowbridge

  • The final nine minutes of action in the quarter saw Maritime outscore St. Joseph's 4-2, with Johnson scoring three goals taking the 5-3 lead into the second quarter

  • The Privateers went on to shutout the Golden Eagles in the second quarter as they would score all four goals, building a 9-3 lead at halftime

  • A goal a minute into the second half from O'Mara halted Maritime's scoring run until Johnson scored two of her own less than a minute later

  • Maritime kept the pressure on as they scored four more goals to end the quarter holding St. Joseph's to zero, taking a 15-4 lead into the final frame

  • The fourth quarter saw Maritime score an additional three unanswered goals to build on their 9-0 scoring run, O'Mara ended the run for the Privateers finding the back of the net with 1:53 left in the game

Notes:
  • St. Joseph's collected 17 ground balls compared to Maritime who scooped up 21

  • SJLI was 14-19 on clears while the Privateers were a perfect 17-17 

  • Maritime held a 17-8 draw control advantage

  • Freshman Maggie Harding tallied eight saves on the night
