69 SJC Student-Athletes Appear on Skyline’s 2015-16 Winter/Spring Academic Honor Roll

New York, NY| A total of 69 St. Joseph's College (L.I.) student-athletes were named to the Skyline Conference's 2015-16 Winter/Spring Academic Honor Roll, as announced by Commissioner Linda Bruno on Friday morning. Of the 11 member institutions, St. Joseph's ranked second in total honorees, trailing only Mt. St. Mary College (77).
The Academic Honor Roll recognizes student-athletes who earned a 3.3 grade point average while competing in baseball, men's and women's basketball, men's and women's lacrosse, softball, men's and women's swimming, men's tennis and men's volleyball during the winter and/or fall semesters of the 2016-17 academic year. In total, 586 student-athletes were honored throughout the conference.
All seven Skyline-sponsored SJC winter and spring sports programs received selections, with baseball (22) garnering the most. Women's lacrosse (14) and women's swimming (9) rounded out the top three.
"With an increased number of honorees this year, the Skyline Conference student-athletes continue to excel in the classroom," said Bruno. "These young men and women are successfully balancing their academic and athletic commitments, which makes for a positive student-athlete experience."
