55 SJC Student-Athletes Appear on Skyline Conference’s Fall 2016 Academic Honor Roll

New York, NY| A total of 55 St. Joseph's College (L.I.) student-athletes were named to the Skyline Conference's 2016 Fall Academic Honor Roll, as announced by Commissioner Linda Bruno on Wednesday afternoon. Of the 12 member institutions, St. Joseph's was tied with Sarah Lawrence for third in total honorees, trailing only Yeshiva University (68) and The Sage Colleges (56).
The Academic Honor Roll recognizes student-athletes who earned a 3.3 grade point average while competing in men's and women's soccer, men's and women's cross country, men's golf, women's tennis and women's volleyball during the fall semester of the 2016-17 academic year. In total, 460 student-athletes were honored throughout the conference.
All seven Skyline-sponsored SJC fall sports programs received selections, with women's volleyball (11) garnering the most. Women's cross country (10) and women's soccer (9) rounded out the top three.
"It is an honor to recognize these student-athletes – who truly exemplify what the student-athlete experience is all about," said Bruno. "Their ability to excel academically and athletically is a testament to the hard work and dedication they put in, and should serve as an example to all."
