Shantey Hill Appointed NCAA Management Council Vice Chair

Indianapolis, IN| St. Joseph's College Assistant Vice President & Senior Director of Athletics & Recreation Shantey Hill has been appointed Vice Chair of the NCAA Division III Management Council.

The Management Council "reports directly to the Presidents Council and handles the implementation of policies adopted by the Association's Board of Governors and Division III Presidents Council." Additionally, it "may sponsor legislative proposals; make interpretations of Division III's bylaws; and may also handle resolution of Division III issues and recommendations from other committees and working groups throughout the Division's substructure."

Hill has been with St. Joseph's since November of 2013 when she was named Director of Intercollegiate Athletics and Recreation and Chair of the Department of Physical Education. In July 2015 Hill was promoted to her current position as Assistant Vice President.

Since her arrival at SJC, Hill has reorganized the senior management team to better service the needs of student-athletes, renovated the Danzi Athletic Center gymnasium and fitness center, and successfully established an exclusive apparel deal with Nike/BSN Sports. She has also overhauled the departments' rental and corporate sponsorship agreements landing Body Armor, Essentia Water, Brookhaven Hospital and North Fork Express as partners.

In addition to Hill's appointment to the Management Council, Hill sits on the Board of Governors of the NCAA's Commission to Combat Sexual Violence, which services all divisions, and was recently named to the board of United Way of Long Island.
