Chris Jimenez Named ECAC Metro Player of the Week

CENTERVILLE, Mass.--The Eastern College Athletic Conference Tuesday announced the ECAC men's basketball players of the week for Division III (four regions), for the period ending Sunday:
Division III – Metro Region Player of the Week
Chris Jimenez – St. Joseph's College – Long Island Campus
Senior, Guard, Bridgewater, N.J.
Jimenez sparked the Golden Eagles to two wins, averaging 19.5 points and 4.0 rebounds per game to help clinch the top spot in the Skyline Conference tournament. The senior hit 6 of 7 three-point shots to help lead St. Joseph's to a 102-81 win over SUNY Old Westbury last Wednesday. The Golden Eagles finish the regular season with a 17-1 conference record.
Division III – New England Region Player of the Week
Ray Askew -- Albertus Magnus College
Senior, Forward, Hamden, Conn.
Askew led the Falcons to the first undefeated conference season in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) history by averaging 28.5 points and 12.5 rebounds per game. The senior, who is now 24 points shy of the school's career-scoring record of 2,234, helped Albertus Magnus to a 2-0 week as the squad finished 18-0 in conference play.
Division III – Upstate Region Player of the Week
Jesse Winter – SUNY Cortland
Junior, Guard, Rockville Centre, N.Y.
Winter averaged 22.3 points, 4.0 rebounds and 5.0 assists in a 3-0 week for the Red Dragons, who wrapped up the No. 2 seed in the upcoming State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) tournament. The junior scored a career-high 36 points in Cortland's 108-105 overtime win over Buffalo State, becoming the 20th player in program history to surpass 1,000 career points.
Division III – South Region Player of the Week
Derek Hall – Albright University
Senior, Center, Northampton, Pa.
Hall scored his 1000th career point, averaging 22.5 points and 11.0 rebounds per game to help lead Albright into the playoffs, sneaking into the MAC playoff picture via tiebreakers. The senior scored 21 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in a crucial 87-68 win over an 18-7 Widener squad.
