Women's Soccer Blanks Brooklyn College, 4-0

Patchogue, NY| The St. Joseph's College women's soccer team picked up its second non-conference win of the season with a 4-0 victory over Brooklyn College on Tuesday evening at Danzi Stadium.

The Golden Eagles improve to 2-0 on the season as the Bulldogs move to 0-1.

Freshman Abbey Curcio put SJC on the board in the opening minute of play after she scored off a cross into the box from sophomore Savannah McMaster.

The Golden Eagles doubled its lead when senior Christina Gagliardi finished a cross from Curcio in the 23rd minute to sending SJC into the break leading 2-0.

St. Joseph's extended its lead in the second half when Curcio took a throw in from junior Carly Credidio and blasted a shot over the head of the Brooklyn goalkeeper.

Gagliardi capped the scoring for the Golden Eagles with less than two minutes on the clock with her second goal of the evening.

Senior goalkeeper Juliana Cintron-Leonardo finished with three saves on the night with Brooklyn's Carmen Proffitt coming away with eight.

The Golden Eagles return to Danzi Stadium on Saturday, September 7 when they host Penn College at 6:00 pm.
