Purchase, NY| Senior Christina Gagliardi scored her 20th goal of the 2019 season in a 5-1 loss to Manhattanville College on Tuesday evening, breaking her own single-season goal record.
The Golden Eagles move to 7-7-1 on the season with a 5-3 Skyline Conference mark. The Valiants improve to 9-7-0 overall, 7-1-0 Skyline.
Down 2-0 in the opening minutes of the second half, Gagliardi ripped a shot from the top of the box past the left side of Manhattanville's keeper cutting SJC deficit to just one, 2-1.
Less than a minute later, MC's Ashley Pacheco recorded her second goal of the day pushing the Valiants lead back up to two, 3-1. The home team would go on to score two more down the stretch bringing the game to its final, 5-1.
Manhattanville outshot the Golden Eagles 19-8 with SJC's Juliana Cintron-Leonardo finishing with seven saves.
The Golden Eagles return home to Danzi Stadium for the final time in the 2019 regular-season and host the College of Mt. St. Vincent on Saturday, October 26. Game time is set for 12:00pm.
