Women's Soccer Plays Mt. St. Vincent to a 1-1 Draw

Patchogue, NY| The St. Joseph's College women's soccer team played the College of Mt. St. Vincent to a 1-1 draw Saturday at Danzi Stadium.

The Golden Eagles move to 7-7-2 on the season with a 5-3-1 Skyline Conference mark. The Dolphins now sit at 5-7-1 overall, 2-5-1 Skyline.

All of the day's scoring happened in the first half starting with senior Christina Gagliardi finishing a pass from sophomore Gianna Castilletti to the upper left corner in the 27th minute.

The Dolphins evened the score with just over a minute left in the opening frame when Cristina Britton snuck a shot through the far side of the net.

St. Joseph's outshot CMSV 11-3 in the second half, but were unable to find the back of the net sending the game to overtime.

The Golden Eagles held the Dolphins without a shot in both overtime periods but were unable to score for the 1-1 tie.

Senior goalkeeper Juliana Cintron-Leonard recorded five saves on the day with her counterpart Kora McCullough finishing with eight.

The Golden Eagles wrap up the 2019 regular-season on Wednesday, October 30 when they travel to face Mt. St. Mary College. Game time is slated for 7:00 pm.
