Women's Soccer Takes Down Old Westbury, 5-1

Patchogue, NY| The St. Joseph's College women's soccer team earned a 5-1 Skyline Conference win over SUNY Old Westbury at Danzi Stadium on Wednesday night.

The Golden Eagles improve to 5-3-1 on the season and remain unbeaten in conference play at 3-0. The Panthers slide to 5-3 overall, 1-1 Skyline.

The Golden Eagles jumped to an early lead when Amanda Fabris drove a long shot from outside the box by OW's keeper in the second minute of play.

The visitors knotted the score at one courtesy of an unassisted goal from Jessica Pedroza in the 14th minute. SJC retook the lead when Christina Gagliardi connected with Savannah McMaster before scoring a goal of her own sending the hosts into the break leading 3-1.

Gagliardi provided some insurance with a pair of unassisted goals in the second half sending the game to its final 5-1.

The Golden Eagles outshot the Panthers 18-5 with a 4-1 corner kick advantage.

SJC's Juliana Cintron-Leonardo finished with three saves on the night.

St. Joseph's returns to Danzi Stadium on Saturday, September 28 when they host SUNY Maritime. Game time is slated for 12:00 pm.
