Purchase, NY| The St. Joseph's College women's soccer team blanked SUNY Purchase, 3-0, in a Skyline Conference battle on Saturday afternoon.
The Golden Eagles improve to 4-3-1 on the season and 2-0-0 in conference play. The Panthers slip to 3-2-0 overall, 0-1-0 Skyline.
A handball in the box prompted a penalty shot opportunity for senior Jaclyn O'Shaughnessy who converted for a 1-0 SJC lead in the 14th minute. Later in the half, St. Joseph's doubled its advantage when senior Jessica Passabile dished a through ball to freshman Abbey Curcio who put it past Purchase's Amber Yarter for a 2-0 lead.
Sophomore Savannah McMaster added some insurance for the Golden Eagles when she finished a cross in the box from Curcio in the 63rd minute.
SJC outshot the Panthers 24-6 with keeper Juliana Cintron-Leonardo recording three saves.
The Golden Eagles return to Danzi Stadium when they host SUNY Old Westbury on Wednesday, September 25. Game time is set for 7:00 pm.
