Women's Soccer Starts Skyline Play with Loss to Farmingdale

Farmingdale, NY| The St. Joseph's College women's soccer team opened Skyline Conference play with an 8-1 loss at Farmingdale State College on Saturday afternoon.

The Golden Eagles slide to 2-3 on the season and 0-1 in conference action. The Rams improve to4-2 overall, 2-0 Skyline.

After FSC's Jazzmin Terrell scored her first of three goals on the day just two minutes into play, the Rams managed two more scores to head into the break leading 3-0.

Farmingdale continued to pour on the offense in the second half with four unanswered goals before SJC's Amanda Fabris scored on a penalty kick to break up the shutout and put the Golden Eagles on the board in the 83rd minute. FSC's Courtney Nelson added a goal in the 88th minute to move the game to its final 8-1.

The Rams finished outshooting The Golden Eagles 23-5 and held a 12-1 advantage in corner kicks.

The Golden Eagles resume non-conference action on Wednesday, September 22 when they travel to face Lehman College.
