Ramcke Lifts Women's Soccer to 1-0 Win over Maritime

Patchogue, NY| The St. Joseph's College (L.I.) women's soccer held on to a 1-0 Skyline Conference win over SUNY Maritime at Danzi Stadium on Wednesday evening.

The Golden Eagles improve to 4-3 on the season with a 2-1 record in Skyline play. The Privateers fall to 3-3 overall, 0-3 Skyline.

The game's lone goal came early when Abbey Curcio sent a corner kick into the box where Ramcke's header found the back of the net just 4:07 into play. The Golden Eagles outshot the Privateers 11-2 in the first half, but Maritime's keeper Lizzie Pomaro made seven saves to keep the score at 1-0 heading into the break.

SJC maintained possession throughout most of the second half allowing just one Maritime shot and Curcio nearly doubled the lead in the final seconds, however, the final whistle blew just before her shot crossed the line.

The Golden Eagles return to Skyline Conference action on Saturday, October 2 when they travel to take on SUNY Purchase at 11:00 am.
