McMaster's Hat Trick Lifts Women's Soccer to Win over Purchase

Purchase, NY| Savannah McMaster's hat trick led the St. Joseph's College (L.I.) women's soccer team to an 8-1 Skyline Conference win over SUNY Purchase on Saturday afternoon.

The Golden Eagles improve to 6-3 on the season with a 3-1 Skyline record. The Panthers slide to 2-4 overall, 1-3 Skyline.

McMaster opened the scoring with her first goal of the day just seconds into the game. Abbey Curcio dished to Brooke Esposito before scoring unassisted to move the score to 3-0. McMaster, Karina Chacon, and Curcio all found the back of the net to send the Golden Eagles into the break leading 6-0.

Purchase's Kristen Purcell put the Panthers on the board in the 53rd minute with an unassisted goal, but McMaster and Chacon both scored again to move the game to its final 8-1.

SJC outshot the Panthers 33-9 with Mikayla Ritter recording five saves. PC's Kaley Cascio finished with 14 saves on the day.

The Golden Eagles resume Skyline Conference play on Sunday, October 10 when they travel to Yeshiva University.
