Women's Soccer Blanked at Manhattanville, 1-0

Patchogue, NY| The St. Joseph's College (L.I.) women's soccer team was shut out 1-0 at Manhattanville College in the regular-season finale on Wednesday afternoon.

The Golden Eagles move to 9-6-0 overall with a 6-4-0 record in Skyline play. The Valiants improve to 10-3-2 on the season, 8-1-1 Skyline.

The St. Joseph's defense denied Manhattanville's attack until the 75th minute when the Valiants broke up the 0-0 stalemate. SJC keeper Mikayla Ritter turned away four second-half shots before MC's Natalie Aracena connected with Megan Leser in front of the net who then fired a shot past Ritter to the right side.

The Golden Eagles were unable to get any offensive momentum having been limited to just two shots. SJC's Ritter came away seven saves on the day with Manhattanville's Alexa Pyatsky.

SJC secured a trip to the Skyline Conference Championship Tournament and a first-round appearance on Saturday, Oct. 30. More details to follow.
