Women's Soccer Downs Lehman, 5-1

Bronx, NY| The St. Joseph's College (L.I.) women's soccer team earned a 5-1 non-conference win at Lehman College on Wednesday evening.

The Golden Eagles even out at 3-3 on the season as the Lightning fall to 1-2.

SJC dominated the first half outshooting the Lightning 5-0 and goals from Karina Chacon and Emily O'Mara sent the Golden Eagles into the break leading 2-0.

Julia Cruz scored an unassisted goal to start the second frame before Lehman's Melanie Siranaula scored to put the Lightning on the board and moved the score to 3-1. Chacon returned the favor to Brooke Esposito, who assisted on the game's first goal, and Trista Buck found the back of the net to round out the scoring and bring the game to its final 5-1.

SJC finished outshooting Lehman 12-6 and held a 3-1 corner kick advantage.

St. Joseph's Madelyn Hunter finished with one save on the night with Lehman's Rebecca Gritz recording five.

The Golden Eagles return to Danzi Stadium on Saturday, September 25 when they host SUNY Old Westbury at 12:00 pm.
