Women's Soccer Shuts Out SJCBK, 4-0

Patchogue, NY| The St. Joseph's College (L.I.) women's soccer team captured a 4-0 Skyline Conference win over sister school St. Joseph's College (Bklyn) at Danzi Stadium on Wednesday evening.

The Golden Eagles improve to 8-3 on the season with a 5-1 mark in Skyline Conference action. The Bears drop to 5-6-1 overall, 2-4 Skyline.

SJCLI controlled the first frame not allowing the Bears to get off a shot in the half. The Golden Eagles got on the board when Abbey Curcio sent in a corner kick and found the foot of Alyssa Ramcke in the 28th minute. SJCLI extended its lead with less than a minute left in the half when Aya Barker headed in a rebound from Savannah McMaster's shot to head into the break leading 2-0

Brooke Esposito added to SJCLI's lead early in the second half when she scored off the rebound from Julia Cruz's blast off the Bears' keeper. Sienna Martinez rounded out the scoring with a goal from the far side in the 62nd minute.

The Golden Eagle defense held the Bears without a shot while SJCBK's keeper Sierra Bedrin recorded 13 saves.

SJCLI resumes Skyline Conference play on Saturday, October 16 when they travel to face Mt. St. Mary at 12:00 pm.
