Costa Earns D3baseball.com Team of the Week Honors
Patchogue, NY| Junior Tyler Costa of the St. Joseph's College (L.I.) baseball team collected his second weekly honor in as many days when he appeared on the D3baseball.com Team of the Week on Tuesday. His on-field efforts landed him on the Skyline Conference Weekly Honor Roll on Monday.
In SJC's Skyline Conference opening doubleheader on Sunday, the outfielder went 4-for-6 with a .667 batting average, driving in five runs while scoring one. He posted a .571 on-base percentage with two stolen bases while slugging at a 1.111 clip.
Costa turned in a 3-for-4 performance in game one knocking in the game-winning run with a sacrifice fly in the top of the tenth before belting a grand slam in the seventh inning of game two, breaking a 9-9 tie and sending the Golden Eagles to a 13-9 win.
Currently, the junior sits third on the team in both batting average (.417) and RBI's (7).
