Four Members of Conference Champion Baseball Land on All-Skyline Teams

New York, NY| Four members of the 2018 Skyline Conference Champion St. Joseph's College (L.I.) baseball team appeared on Skyline All-Conference teams when the conference announced its end-of-season awards on Monday afternoon.

Junior first baseman Paul Britt earned First-Team honors a year after appearing on the Second-Team as a sophomore in 2017. The Commack, NY native led the conference in batting average (.413), slugging percentage (.754), runs scored (39), triples (6) and home runs (7). The Cortland transfer was also second in hits (52), third in on-base percentage (.507) and fourth in RBI's (35).

Sophomore Tyler Sanderson joined Britt on the First-Team after batting .360 with 19 RBI's and 27 runs in 2018. The third baseman boasted a .953 fielding percentage and was ninth in the conference with 45 hits.

Appearing on the Second-Team were senior outfielder Matthew Burnett and junior shortstop Anthony Raucci. Burnett, a Second-Team selection for the second-straight season, hit .343 with 15 RBI's and produced a flawless 1.000 fielding percentage. Raucci was a .359 hitter with 28 RBI's and ranked in the top 10 in the conference in hits (46), triples (4), at bats (128) and RBI's.

With a 6-5 11-inning victory over the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy in a winner-take-all game nine at the 2018 Skyline Conference Baseball Championship on Sunday the Golden Eagles claimed their second conference title in the past three years. SJC earns an automatic bid to the 2018 NCAA Division III Baseball Championship set to begin on May 17.
