Lady Eagles Fall To Farmingdale in Skyline Action

Patchogue, N.Y. — The crowd was rocking on Wednesday night but despite their home court support the Lady Golden Eagles (2-20, 2-10 SKY) couldn't trump the Farmingdale Rams (14-8, 11-1 SKY), who are nearly undefeated in Skyline Conference games.

The Rams jumped ahead early, establishing a 9-0 lead only five minutes into the game. The Eagles seemed to get their footing late in the first half, even bringing the game within six points with seven minutes left, but Farmingdale's offense was too strong to match and they led at the half, 31-22.

The Rams' lead only grew in the second half, logging ten steals and shooting 43.2% from the field.  The Eagles also got into some foul trouble towards the end of the game which Farmingdale used to their advantage, sinking seven out of their 11 foul shots in the second half alone.

Danielle Hamlin (Centereach, N.Y./ Centereach) scored 20 points and grabbed 11 rebounds while Laura Cohen (Smithtown, N.Y./ Smithtown East) sunk 11 points, grabbed five rebounds and three steals.

The Eagles will host NYU-Polytechnic for their senior night on Friday at 7 p.m.
