Women's Lacrosse Suffers Non-Conference Loss to Kean

Patchogue, NY| The St. Joseph's College women's lacrosse team suffered a non-conference loss to Kean University 14-7 Thursday evening at Danzi Stadium.

The Golden Eagles fall to 6-8 on the season with the Cougars improving to 14-2.

After trading goals to start the evening, Kean went on a 3-0 run to take an early 4-1 lead. SJC's Kristin Carroll netted the only other goal for the home team in the half at the 15:07 mark to cut the deficit to 4-2. The Cougars responded with four unanswered goals to take an 8-2 lead into the break.

Ally Johnston's second goal of the game brought the Golden Eagles to within four, 9-5, with just over 20 minutes remaining, but that would be as close as SJC would get as the Cougars outscored them 5-2 over the second portion of the half cruising to a 14-7 win.

Carroll led the Golden Eagle attack with four goals on the night with Johnston pitching in with two and Alexis Hillman recorded SJC's other goal.

Goalkeeper finished with seven saves on the night with Kean's goalie Nikki Apostolopoulos recording 11.

The Golden Eagles close out the regular season on Saturday, April 28 when they host the College of Mt. St. Vincent. Game time is set for 12:00 pm.
